Is your business successful

I agree that the question about is your business successful or not, depends very much on your definition of success. So how do you measure that success and what can you do about it? Let’s look at a little example of what people are prepared to do to be successful first.

Last week I had the pleasure of spending 2 days in the company of JT Foxx, the world’s no. 1 wealth coach. This was a great experience and honour to hear some of the things that he had to say and thought about business. After all he is said to be the next American Billionaire. Among other things, he suggested that you need to have a business coach and I agree with him whole heatedly. Another interesting thing that I thought relates to this, albeit in a roundabout way, was that only about 75% of people who said they were going to attend, turned up. Then by the second day that number dropped again and the room had a few less faces than the first day.

You must take action.

Then when he offered his products to the entrepreneurs and the “wantrepreneurs” (people who want to be entrepreneurs.) You saw very few people take action and invest in themselves.
One of the products on offer was an IPod with many hours of recording where JT Foxx is either coaching or being coached by the world’s top millionaires and coaches. The cost- R10,000. The first thing through many people’s minds was no doubt, “That is expensive.” He was still busy talking when I was already back in the room taking out the debit card to pay. Feeling lucky to get one of only 5 IPod’s.

What has this got to do with coaching?

You may wonder what this has to do with business coaching and the question, “Is your business successful?” Well, you have to take action. Talk is cheap. It is all in the action. As Jim Rohn said, “For things to change, you have to change.” You need to invest in yourself. This means both financially and in time.

Often people say they are going to do something and then don’t turn up. That has happened to me on a few occasions. How can you trust a business that does not turn up or deliver on what they promised?

Is your business successful?

I appreciate that things may happen in life, but many people did not come back because they thought they knew it all. As a coach, I knew much of what he was talking about and yet learnt some valuable things as well. To be successful in business you have to be willing to learn new things. You have to be willing to stay the course and not give up. You have to check your ego at the door.

When it came to buying the products, I will agree that it may have been outside many people’s budgets. Funny though that those same people can spend money on fast food, cigarettes and things that don’t make them more successful. I have only listened to 3 hours of the recordings and have already gained invaluable information to increase and improve my business. The best R10,000 I have spent in my business for some time. It is not about what something costs that is important. It is what will be the return on investment. What will it make you? What can you learn from it? Learning from the experiences of multi-millionaires, priceless. Invest in yourself, your education and your business.

So is your business successful?

It is not just about how much money you make or free time you have. It is about your personal brand and the brand of your business. Do you pitch up when you say you will? Are you open to learning and adapting and innovating in your business environment? If you keep doing the same thing, you are falling behind.

A business coach is there to help you to explore new options, opportunities and ways of doing things. Helping you to grow as a person and as a business. Whether you want to make more money, more free time with a better work life balance or you want to create a legacy for your children. However you measure if your business is successful, ask yourself, “Am I happy with what I am earning? Am I happy with what I am achieving and doing? If I die tomorrow, will it all have been worth it?”

There were many other things that I have learned from the 2 days and we can cover some of them in future posts.

Have a wonderful day and make this your best year yet. For more information, simply contact us and see how we can help you too.
